We guarantee your puppy from us-
1. will be current on distemper/parvo vaccinations
2. will be started on a parasite control program "dewormed"
3. will be free of congenital (genetic) crippling defects for 1 years from date of purchase. These defects include hip or elbow dysplasia, heart conditions that don't self correct, blindness, deafness(not included are minor issues like over or underbite) -other problems considered on a case by case basis -if your puppy developes such a defect we will:
a) offer a full cash refund for the purchase price of the puppy, once he is returned to us
b) offer a half price refund if you spay/neuter your pet and decide to keep him despite his defect
c) offer you a replacement puppy if you return the defective puppy
d) offer you a replacement puppy at half price if you decide to spay/neuter your defective puppy and keep it.
4. will always be welcome back here and under no circumstance should be turned into a rescue or shelter (we do not refund for this, but promise proper care/home for the pet)
5. will not be sick or die within 10 days of purchase EXCLUDING shipping colds AKA (kennel cough/bordetella/flu’s/pneumonia/URI/bronchitis) or parasites AKA (worms/protozoan/external parasites) or small hernias(any hernias we try and have repaired before they leave, but at times they can be missed upon exam if we missed a hernia we offer a $25 refund(what our vet charges to repair) once you send proof of repair)
6. If your puppy does become ill during the first 10 days, and you have contacted us and followed directions which may include allowing our vet to treat it at our expense, and it dies we will follow policy listed above. If he becomes ill, and you follow our directions, you may be reimbursed for up to the purchase price of the puppy, depending upon the severity of the illness. This does NOT include colds, flu’s, bordetella, pneumonia, worms /protozoan
7. Any vet records will be sent along with the puppy
8. If it is sold as a registered puppy, its registration papers will go with it or you will recieve within 60 days of purchase
9. if you meet the puppy during our ground transport service ,and do NOT accept the puppy and do NOT take it home, but return it on our transport that same day, you can apply the amount you paid towards another future puppy
10. if you place a deposit on a puppy and you decide not to accept one, you can apply your payment towards a future puppy. We no longer offer refunds. The fee you pay helps with care costs and advertising costs.
YOU AGREE
1. that you are buying a pet , not a show dog or a breeding dog
2. that you will take it to a vet AFTER 6 days, but BEFORE 14 days of arrival for a wellness exam
3. that you will keep it current on vet recommended shots and dewormings. Please remember NO shots or dewormings are due within the first 6 days nor usually within 14 days
4. that you will feed it a name brand of appropriate puppyfood. We suggest keeping it on Health Extension so you can enjoy a LifeTime Health Guarantee on your puppy.
5. that if a problem is found you will contact us asap and provide contact info for your vet and any related bills and vet records , so our vet can discuss the problem with him. (problems do not include underbites, overbites,mild hair loss and similar minor issues) Failure to contact us immediatetly will void any guarantee
6. that any shipping costs to buy or return puppy are the buyers expense.
7. that WE DO NOT REFUND ANY VET BILLS
8. ALL our puppies are sent with dewormers and medications prescribed by our vet. Failure to complete this 10- 14 day program without prior consent from us is a void of our guarantee. This includes if your vet decides to change the medications. We KNOW from experience what works for our puppies. Your vet does NOT live here and work with our dogs he does NOT know. If he wants to change medications we need to be contacted immediately!
9. that we will only refund when we have appropriate documentation from your veterinarian. We reserve the right to ask for a 2nd opinion from a vet not associated with the same clinic at the buyers expense. This is in cases where there is doubt or difference of opinions.
10. You agree that if you can't keep your puppy/dog anymore you will contact us first before selling, giving or turning into a shelter.
11. that we do NOT refund, if you chose the wrong breed, have a spouse that hates the puppy, puppy's color doesn't match the furniture/carpet/curtains, someone is allergic, your tired of it, too much work , won't housetrain, your cat/dog hates it, it chased the cat, ate the bird , chewed the furniture, your landlord realized you have a pet - some sound funny, but we have heard all of these excuses throughout our career working with animals, vets, shelters, kennels. It is YOUR responsiblity to research breeds, it is YOUR responsiblity to think and decide whether to have a dog-IS your family ready? Can you provide a stable home for the next 15 years? If you rent what will you do when you move and can't find a house that allows pets..most don't. We have taken the time to care for our parent dogs, raised puppies that are social and healthy, researched and learned about breeding and genetics. You can take a few moments to make sure a pet is indeed suitable at this stage of your life.
12. that this agreement is made in MO and any disputes and all cases will be judged or settled by Missouri State Laws or in Mo State courts relative to the seller.
If you buy a puppy from us, you agree to this. This internet copy will stand as the agreement, and by buying a puppy from us you are agreeing to the info within. Feel free to print for your records.
This may seem like a lot. May sound like there is a lot of problems. We are much more concerned and pro-active than many folks which is why we do the procedures the way we do. After 4 + years we KNOW what works, and typically the only problems we have are when people do not follow our advice.
These are BABIES and like human babies, they can develope typical baby problems. Some things may not show until later, some things may be brought out by stress of a new home. We both need to be willing to recognize this and work together. Our cooperation will lead to success and a happy home and a happy puppy
QUESTIONS---
Why don't you refund any vet bills?
If you bought a toaster and it was defective would you spend $200 to repair it and then expect Sears to refund that money? No, you would follow Sears policy and return the toaster.
Now wait a darn minute you say..my pet is like a child not a toaster, I just can't send it back or do nothing!!
Ok, if you adopted a baby would you expect that baby NOT to have a cold, or ear infection or digestive upset the first year or ever? And if the baby had something like this would you honestly expect the adoption agency to pay her doctor bills or would you understand she is now your baby and will need health care of a baby?
You do expect the baby to have no special needs or serious genetic health issues when you adopted(assuming you requested a healthy baby) And we agree with you totally! But our puppies(or anyone's puppies) are BABIES..newborns..they are changing homes, losing everything they ever knew, being exposed to other babies, being stressed, being carried around and loved on and they most likely will get a cold(kennel cough) or an ear infection(pneumonia) or digestive upset(worms/parasites/coccidia/giardia). It is NEVER our goal to send a sick puppy and just like babies, they can be healthy looking one minute and wake up the next day with a virus. Please do NOT panic, it is normal for all infants, human or puppy and they will get thru this. The rule of thumb is as long as they are eating and on meds they are fine.
